End User License Agreement

This End User License Agreement (“Agreement”) is a binding legal agreement between you (“User”) and the independent developer of the SectLauncher software (hereinafter “Developer”, operating under the pseudonym ByteFlipper). The Developer acts as an individual and does not represent any corporation or legal entity. By installing, copying, or otherwise using SectLauncher, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agreed to the terms of this Agreement.

If you do not agree to the terms of this Agreement, you may not install or use SectLauncher.

1. General Provisions

1.1. SectLauncher is an unofficial software launcher (integrator) designed to manage modifications, modpacks, and launch the Minecraft game. 1.2. The software is provided “AS IS”. The Developer makes no warranties regarding the uninterrupted or error-free operation of the software. 1.3. The launcher is intended solely for personal, non-commercial use. 1.4. SectLauncher is not affiliated with or endorsed by Mojang AB, Microsoft Corporation, or any other Minecraft rightsholders. “Minecraft” is a trademark of Mojang Synergies AB.

2. Subject of the Agreement

2.1. The Developer grants the User a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use SectLauncher for personal purposes. 2.2. The User agrees to use SectLauncher in accordance with this Agreement and applicable applicable laws.

3. Authorization and Accounts

3.1. SectLauncher supports authorization via Microsoft (Xbox Live) accounts for licensed game access. 3.2. By entering credentials (via Microsoft OAuth), the User grants the launcher the right to generate access tokens to launch the game. SectLauncher does not store or transmit your passwords or credentials to the Developer. 3.3. SectLauncher also provides an “offline” authorization feature. The Developer warns that offline mode does not grant access to official servers requiring license verification (online-mode=true). The User is solely responsible for using this feature.

4. Third-Party Content

4.1. The launcher allows downloading, installing, and managing content (mods, modpacks, resource packs) hosted on third-party platforms (e.g., Modrinth). 4.2. All such content belongs to its rightful authors. The Developer is not responsible for the performance, security, content, or any consequences of installing third-party modifications or loaders. 4.3. By downloading files from external sources using the launcher, the User agrees to the terms of service of the respective platforms.

5. Restrictions

The User is strictly prohibited from:

  • 5.1. Decompiling, disassembling, modifying, or creating derivative works based on closed components of SectLauncher without explicit permission.
  • 5.2. Using the launcher to distribute malware, viruses, trojans, or other destructive elements.
  • 5.3. Using the launcher to bypass DRM on licensed servers, commercial gain, or violating third-party copyrights.
  • 5.4. Claiming authorship of SectLauncher or presenting it as their own project.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties and Limitation of Liability

6.1. SectLauncher is provided “AS IS”. The Developer disclaims all warranties, express or implied. Under no circumstances shall the Developer be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from the use or inability to use SectLauncher.

7. Data Privacy

7.1. The collection, storage, and processing of User data are governed by the “Privacy Policy,” which is an integral part of this Agreement. SectLauncher uses Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized telemetry data for product improvement.

8. Amendments

8.1. The Developer reserves the right to modify the terms of this Agreement at any time without prior personal notice. 8.2. Continued use of SectLauncher constitutes acceptance of the new Agreement.

9. Termination

9.1. This Agreement remains in effect until terminated by either party. 9.2. The User may terminate the Agreement at any time by uninstalling SectLauncher. 9.3. The Developer may terminate the license in case of a violation of this Agreement.
